This is what I saw just outside my garden, by the fence :(

I'm not sure but I think the victim is a dove :(

Possibly a dove but some of the feather colours are quite dark so a juvenile woodie or a feral are also possible.

It is a possibility that its a juvenile woodie, I have few of them coming to the garden all the time. Poor thing :(
My doves have been suspiciously awol today though, makes me wonder ...
We will never know for sure

Looks like you have a Sparrowhawk in your neighbourhood.

I think so peregrine, it looks like a neat plucking job, Sparrowhawk style.
On a brighter side ... while I was putting the food out, my little Robin, the one with hairstyle issues, landed on a tray behind me and started eating. I wouldn't even notice if he didn't chirp gently, as in saying "hello" :wave2: . Super sweet

I have noticed that the garden and feeders have suddenly stopped getting so many bird visitors. Even the Sparrows who were eating epic amounts of seed only a week ago have taken their business elsewhere.

I had four Feral Pigeons turn up today. Well lucky old you I can hear you chorus but remarkably those were the first I'd seen since Friday last week  Normal service up to then was about 15 to 20 hoovering up every crumb of dropped food plus any they could steal from the hanging feeders :(
I'm assuming a better offer has has been made elsewhere otherwise I'm baffled.
