I've been busy at work but have noticed that the ducks that were chilling out in my neighbours garden have vanished, my neighbour said he hasn't seen them for a few days and the sweetcorn he put out for them is uneaten.
I'll miss them, they were nice to watch from my window.

A rook, of all birds, managed to get into the covered feeder just now and demolish half a fat ball. Mighty clever bird.

they really are clever birds. I haven't been fortunate so see one of them. I hope maybe one day ...

I saw a great tit collecting a spider cobwebs this morning, just like when they collect them to build a nest, could it be that they are already having a second brood? I thought its a bit early, but at the same time, its a bit late to start the first one. I'm really puzzled

It is unusual to get a Rook in the garden at all. I get the occasional Crow but all the corvids are clever and well able to work out how easy food can be reached.

I saw my Robin feeding Mrs Robin earlier . I haven't seen any robin fledglings this year, and unless they fledged somewhere else I fear that maybe their first brood failed? . It is a positive thing that they are courting

It doesn't get much more positive. The Robin equivalent of an engagement ring and a box of chocs. Almost certainly a second brood . Anything could have happened with the first attempt

Female GSW in on the peanuts yesterday. First time for at least a couple of years. Male is in everyday now

I think baby blackie is on his/her own now, I saw him visiting the feeder earlier and having a nice meal , so happy to see him doing well

A wren this morning, having a shy little bath while it thought it was all alone. Bless

Yes, they should be called The Very Shy Wren. I haven't seen one in my garden for a couple of years though I read they are one of the most common garden birds
