I have very few Blackbirds this year they may come back in the spring time .

One of mine has very recently become rather more relaxed when I put out the food - my blackbirds tend to fly into the trees and wait for me to retreat but this one has decided I'm not a mortal threat and only sits in the nearest shrub, quite visible to me.
I think he's realised that the closer he stays the sooner he gets first pick of the goodies :nod:.
Interesting to see how this progresses .......

Watched in disbelief a m. blackbird taking away a beakful of suet pellets. Surely rather early to be feeding his mate ??!!

It might be him carting them off to scoff them somewhere a little more private and away from envious eyes. :)

The Black and White Cat was just sitting on the lawn this morning doing nothing. A blackbird in the cherry was quite miffed.
He was facing the cat but when he saw me in the kitchen he jumped round on the branch to face me (I think he was trying telepathy) so I obligingly waved a tea towel at the cat which made off in a leisurely fashion and straight away down came Mr. B. for his elevenses.
Everybody happy ....... :D
