Snow started coming down thickly about 04.20 was 28F about 05.00.
It soon thawed after sunrise but some still remains on the grass.

37F now

No snow in the grounds of the Chateau. The staff were delighted as the expected turn out to shovel the drive clear was not required.
Despite much It was a wicked wind and tres parky

Was 31F first thing - two kettles to thaw the bird bath

40F now and

Been quite nice here. No frost or ice in the birdbath. Felt quite warm when I went out on the birdfood walk. And blue skies when I walked the lanes. All this talk of winter, just where is it.

Was lovely and glittery everywhere this morning - 30F at 6, 28F at 7 o' clock and back to 30F now

I often note the dip in temperature when I look again - I spose it could be the just before dawn thing

Silver-cloudy now - still icy snow about in the garden

Widespread frost this morning, but lovely and sunny now. Had to press my thermal socks into action just in case on the bird feed walk. Don't like cold feet.
