This camera has several automatic click postions on its selector knob but then push 'Menu' and each has several settings to scroll up and down through or to change. It will indeed take me a month learn.

At present I'm having problems with the glare from a bright overcast or partially sunny sky in the background while photographing birds in the partial shade in the foreground within my balcony's pergola house.

I need to indeed find somebody with a Coolpix to ask. Alas even on 'BirdForum' no answers to this question. (I have the same user name and Avatar with the Marsh Tit there.)

Charles cameras can take a while to master. Hopefully someone might come along and help with your question. Me I just use my trusty monocular and my mobile phone.
