They're very intriguing pix, Greg .
What is the silvery-grey background, just as a matter of interest ?? I can identify a bit of chipboard but not the other.
I noted that the similarly coloured March Moth was halfway drawn to the silvery one.

It's Silver Birch. I unwound a piece off a bit of rotten branch and glued it to a chipboard block. The Moth was half and half on it and I had to take a quick photo as it was on the point of flying off.

Here's a Dotted Border - I've just taken; it was on a cabinet in the verandah.

I'm loving all the Moth I'm also impressed with the supplied IDs. I'll admit to being highly confused with the differences between some of the species.

I wondered whether it was a silver birch branch but thought it looked a bit flat. Never thought of unwound bark !! Very inventive and just right for many species I s'pose.

I was thinking about getting a trap but some of the prices were bit eye-watering for me. I must ask father Christmas
