WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Three four years ago I got a flitting glimpse but they didn't stay long. Same happened the next day then they were gone. Sunday this week eight appeared, just for seconds and away. Monday and Tuesday there were four. Again stayed no more than twenty seconds. Since then nothing but I still hope. This was the only pic I got because they were flighty. WOW LTTs.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I usually have a male blackcap come in most days for a feed, however today I seen a bird on the hawthorn so got my bino`s out. It was a female blackcap. First one I have seen this winter. That one preferred the suet pellets, wheras the male likes mini muffin and suet cake.
Also my female pied wagtail gets very clever. If I see them out in the carpark I go out the door to the gate and they come up on the wall. I then throw them mealworms onto my path. They both come down within 4 or so feet and take a mealworm as I throw them down. With the female though if I get the aim right, she will catch it in her beak. Don't happen often but when it does is a joy to watch.

Better get someone to video your performing Waggy Willpar. It'll be a hit on YouTube

1/ I hope your blackcaps get together, Willpar !!
2/ Performing wagtails
. Now there's a thing. Deffo agree with the Cap'n: that should be committed to tape for posterity.

Two of my four(?) dunnocks have learned to sit on the seed feeder which has been relocated to a branch in the silver birch tree. Very surprised at that - just goes to show that sometimes a relocation really DOES work
