Blue NCO (female) arrived back at Loch of the Lowes on Friday 17 March. Usually the male arrives back first. The male arrived back a few hours later. Unusually both arrived back at the nest on the same day. 2023 Osprey season has started.

No sign of Ospreys at Glaslyn. However at Loch Arkaig has two nests with cameras. Nest one Was used by Louis and Aila up to 2021 when Dorcha turned up and Aila disappeared. Louis and Dorcha set up on nest two where they successfully raised a brood. Even though I haven't seen ayt Ospreys there are sign at nest one. Looks like there is fresh moss/lichen lining the nest cup. Will keep an eye on this nest. Here's hoping.

Naw, beginning to change my mind about Osprey activity on nest one at Loch Arkaig. Moss/lichen (if that is what is in the nest cup) not as fresh as I thought

On Sunday, Louis touched down on Nest Two at Loch Arkaig. We now await Dorcha to return.

NC0 laid her first egg of 2023 season yesterday morning. Next one should be due Friday 7 April 2023.
