Always a treat however brief. It seems to lift the spirits somehow.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I've been having a bunch of finches in my garden for quite a while now, chaffinches and gold finches that come every day to help themselves to some food. Lovely lively birds

Great birds to have visit butterfly. I get a goldfinch now and again, but not seen a chaffinch.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
There was a time when a Chaffinch was viewed as being one of the usual suspect in my garden, but not anymore. There has bee n a steep decline in their numbers and no-one is absolutely certain of the cause. Tricho is suspected but not on the scale that has decimated the Greenfinches. The UK population is boosted in winter by winter visitors from northern climes. The BTO is on the case but we will have to wait to learn anything definite.

That is a shame JS. check out Scottish Wildlife Garden on you tube. She has loads of them. All the feeders are in a wooded area.

I had four Greenfinches all at the same time on the SFH feeder. That is the highest count in many years.

Good spot Butterfly. They are in my town centre but rarely come out to see us all in the housing estates.
