No, 10cm diameter hose out the window and that's it (AEG one from John Lewis). No water reservoir or tray to empty. It's quite expensive to run (30p/hr) but it drops the room temp around 1 degree every 20-30mins and you can stand it front of it and get lovely 19C air blowing up your shirt! :) That cools you down for a good half an hour too.

Just to give you an idea, I got home tonight and at 5.35 it was 29.6C in my living room. By 6.45 it was 27.2C and much more comfortable with a cool breeze circulating.

Sounds nice kev. I have a quite large fan that has three speeds, has been on since lunchtime. Have a nice breeze blowing at me. Only downside if i move away it is hot again.

We have a weather warning for very hot weather until Thursday. At least i can walk the lanes for an hour or so, and be in the shade due to the high hedges.

The other thing I did last year was to half fill a hot water bottle with water and put it in the freezer. Then you can have it on your lap or under your back and it stays cold for absolutely ages because the insulation stops the ice melting. You might need to wrap a towel round it to take some of the 'sharpness' off the cold and to catch any condensation.

Strewth, no let up with this heat. Change is on the way. This afternoon a light breeze materialized. But still very hot.

Couple of degrees drop in temps today. The sever heat warning expires midnight tonight. With the breeze today, it did feel a little fresher. Warmer inside than out.
