Think i probably got two now. Camera picked up one several times last night up in the garden. Seems to have a mark of some sort on its back.

I'm beginning to think your Hogs will not hibernate this winter.

I thought you always get them Willpar, what happened to your hedgehogs? Do you think its because of badgers that are visiting you?

I don't know what willpar thinks but I would think the badger visit and the Hogs disappearance could well be linked.

Hi all, my hedgehogs have all dispersed due to the visiting badger. I had around four coming in just before the badger made an appearance. Badger has been a regular ever since. Comes in at least twice a week. But came in last night and the night before. So i am not expecting to see any hedgehogs anytime soon. Others feed the hedgehogs around here somewhere as some had markings, so the badger is probably doing the rounds where hedgehog food is put out. Myself i stopped putting out food for the hedgehogs to try and discourage the badger.
I think the long dry spell may have a part to play as the badgers feed mainly on earth worms, and with the dry spell, the worms would go deeper and harder to get. I think that is why the badger has extended it`s range in search for food. Has been raining here lately, but the ground is still not that wet.
