The Osprey earlier today on the nest at Loch Arkaig was not Louis or Aila but a stranger. May be some fireworks when the resident two return.

Loch of the Lowes - Female has done a lot of work on the nest in the last 24 hours and quite a bit earlier today and its looking good. She is now lying down in the cup of the nest for the first time this year. As both birds were here on 22 March 2021 it may be she is getting ready to lay her first egg.

Loch of the Lowes - three birds on the nest about 15 minute ago. One left (assumed the intruder). Another left (assumed the resident male) very shortly after and returned to nest after a couple of minutes.

Loch Arkaig - Osprey on the nest at the moment. Not sure if one of the resident pair. No update from staff yet.

Appears to be the same male that landed on the nest on Wednesday. Watch this space when Louis returns.

Nest covered in snow at Loch Arkaig. A lot of work to be done if the birds return today.
