Re: BLACKBIRDS
A male blackbird has returned to the chateau garden after the late summer moult. This is a little earlier than normal but perhaps he was homesick

Re: BLACKBIRDS
My blackies are also returning, albeit only 2 so far and they're not quite Regulars yet.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
Went out with the bird food this morning. In the hawthorn there was two blackbirds. But not after some suet pellets or mealworms left over, but having a go at what was left of the berries. Nice to see them though.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
Mine are still keen to have any sultanas on offer but are concentrating on the Rowan berries and my grapes. The former are nearly all gone but the grapes will last them a good while.
Re: BLACKBIRDS
Three blackbirds in the hawthorn this morning. No berries left but plenty of suet pellets, mealworms and saltanas.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
My blackbirds were making the final push on finishing the rowan berries. The rowan is starting to drop it's leaves exposing the few that are remaining.
Re: BLACKBIRDS
I haven't seen a single blaskbird since spring time
. I had few coming to my garden, there was even fights between competing pairs when they bump into each other, and than they were all gone. I assumed they went away to moult and would come back later, but not a sign of them yet.

My Blackbirds have discovered the the cotoneaster berries are ready to eat. The two bushes are close to the front of the house but it didn't seem to phase them.
