Lots of sparrows today, even had two wood pigeons. Plus the usual gang of starlings. Still, plenty of food to go round.

I had a similar problem when a family of Jackdaws mastered the art of clinging to the fat ball feeder . They made very short work of a good many FBs before I found a way to prevent them.

I manufactured a cage from two empty wire hanging baskets around the feeder. Smaller birds could easily get through the basket mesh while Mr Jack Dawes looked on disappointed.

Several of the blueys coming to my feeder at the moment have beaks full of moss and grass. They be nest building My favourite time of the year!
