This is growing between the flagstones on my patio and I've left it in peace and today had a hunt for its identity. It's a Marsh dock (of which I've never heard

). Apparently it's "uncommon" so I'm a bit thrilled

It is amazing how the plants turn up out of the blue. I am always delighted when something rarer turns up but I can never figure why it is there and who brought it.

I really love the wild flower aspect of gardening. I give everything a chance until it is identifiable and then it can be discarded or kept 'cos you never know .....
That's how I got my beloved mulberry, and the silver birch. The fact that they're freebies has absolutely categorically nuffink to do with it

The chateau bluebell patch has been growing for about 20 years now starting with 3 or 4 plants in a small pot. They are growing in the shade of the rowan and the hazel which can be seen on the left. The blue furthest from the camera is Forget-me-not.

Lovely cool shot, Jacksparrow

.
I also have f-m-n's in among my (few) bluebells but they're in the lawn now so the weedkiller has had to be utilised

My 2021 Bluebells are pushing through the ground surface now. They quite often start to make an appearance around this time even though the flowers don't usually arrive until April.
