The graphics on the BBC weather report intimated that my area would benefit from a decent fall of snow overnight. We did get a covering but barely half an inch. Most of it was gone by lunchtime and the remainder by tea.

Very hard frost and freezing conditions. Sun shone all day, but was very cold. Even the water in the garden stayed iced up.

Frosty start again but not as cold. Sunny until lunchtime. Is warming up.

Low cloud here all day long, making the air damp. Lot warmer.
