Last Friday I had a visit from the Sprawk and I think he snatched on of my sparrows :( I have not seen a single sparrow since but one turned up at about 3.30pm :(
Poor little soul :( RIP :rainbow:

I am blessed with a good flock of Sparrows and I have mentioned before that they hold noisy meetings in the ivy on my back fence. Today was one of those days. They had gathered by about 10 a.m. and remained there until at least 12.30. The noise was incredible for such small birds. I think they hunkered down for the storm to pass through but were out on the feeders again shortly after it finished. :)

Lovely little birds JS, good that you have a nice flock. Mine gather on the hedge from around 9am waiting for their live mealworms. I put in some mini suet pellets also for good measure.

Had a nice gang of sparrows in the garden this morning. Must have been around twenty of them. Not easy to count though, they keep moving around.

I've been trying to count my sparrows for the BTO weekly count for 10 years but still I end up taking an educated guess.

Had another sparrow count as they stayed still long enough. The ones that i could see amounted to thirty. May have been some more within the hedge. But a tidy number all the same.

Have a house sparrow currently roosting under the porch roof. It flew out at dusk but came back. So just went out with a small torch and found it.
