Twenty plus sparrows in the garden this morning. So not bad at all.

Being overrun by house sparrows at the moment. There are loads of them.

I was wondering where mine had gone. Recent years have seen a steady decline and I have no idea why. :(

Just a thought. If you are near farmland, there will be plenty of food in the fields. Corn crops and spilled seed from harvesting. Sometimes the hedges here where there are crops are alive with sparrows.

The sparrows have changed tactics here in the garden. Less suet and more seed. Not complaining the seed is cheaper.

Over the last 6 months my sparrow visitors had dwindled down to no more the half a dozen. Today all that changed when they held one of their gatherings in the ivy on my back fence. I did not get to count them as they were well hidden but the noise level gave away their presence. :)
