Ospreys
Re: Ospreys
They usually come back to the same nest every year. The male is usually first. However another female may come along before the resident female and its not unknown for him to mate with that female. Once the resident female arrives she will oust the rogue female or be ousted herself. More than not the resident male and female set up home together. Aila is late, usually beginning of April. She has been later once, 28 April 2017, the first year Louis and her were together,

Re: Ospreys
An emaciated female turned up at the nest at Loch Arkaig. They are not sure if it is Aila after a tough migration but will know better once her condition improves.
Re: Ospreys
Oh dear, I hope she recovers! Her recovery wont be helped when she discovers that Louis has been with another female
Re: Ospreys
Don't think Louis is going to tell her. As long as the 'other woman' keeps her beak closed Louis AIla will be none the wiser.
Re: Ospreys
Emaciated female has arrived at Loch Arkaig and been to the nest. Could it be Aila? Staff are not sure but once she get back into condition it may be easier to tell. Louis and this female were seen on the nest and attempting to mate.

Re: Ospreys
The unknown female has a darvic ring and everyone is trying to read it. Not sure if Aila in ringed or not.
Re: Ospreys
Aili isn't ringed. She may be the emaciated female that Louis tried to mate with. This ringed female is new but they haven't been able to identify her using the ring yet. But they will eventually.
