I heard these tiny squeaky voices coming from pigeon's nests near the high street today, in this freezing cold weather :faint: . Poor little ones must be feeling this cold more than the others. You have to give it to them, they are such a tough birds

You have highlighted the pigeon's secret of success. Most of the UK based birds can and do breed all year round. If a nest fails they seem undeterred and just crack on and start all over again.

Walter the one-legged pigeon was down feeding today. I hadn't seen him for a few weeks and given the current weather we're enjoying I was relieved.

The ferals were all down today with Walter joining the main flock. I also noticed there was another one using only one of it's legs. This time it is the right leg that is out of use whereas with Walter it is the other way round.

My ferals are going through a period of being real pains ITA. I am quite happy for them to mop up whatever is dropped from the feeders and I regularly put food on the ground feeder which they can have. This it seems is not enough as they also want to plunder the hanging feeders meaning the small birds don't get a look in. This afternoon I had to scare them off half a dozen times in half an hour :(
My usual solution is to remove the feeders at particular times but this gets very tiresome and also means the other birds miss out too.
