Took delivery of 500g of live large mini mealworms today. Never got the regulars as they may not last long. It is just so that I have them ready for the pied wagtails and other smaller birds. Never bought any during the breeding season as the sparrows were not much interested and the starlings don't get live ones anyway.

The cooler weather this week has meant an upturn in the amount of food my birds are taking. :feedbirds: :)

Father Christmas has come early this year and he has delivered a new bird table. My old one has lasted for about 20 years and is literally dropping apart. I have opted for an RSPB one and have spent 3 hours or more assembling it. Below is the link but I didn't do the fatball deal so it was cheaper.

I put it in position this afternoon. The birds are giving it a wide berth at present so it will be a couple of days before it's duties start in earnest.

I saw one Starling using it this morning but I think there have been others.

Now it is freezing cold out there, my bird numbers seem to have dropped. Would think the opposite as they would need food more than ever.
