Not by me, but a swallow was spotted at a place called Folly Gate, That is Okehampton in Devon. Sighting was posted with a pic, on the 15th March. Seen this on Devon birds website. Birdwatchers record their sightings on the website. Good place to go to see what is around.

It seems a little early. The Sand Martins are usually the earliest of the hirundines at the end of March. There were quite a few insects on the wing today so it may be OK.Willpar wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:19 amNot by me, but a swallow was spotted at a place called Folly Gate, That is Okehampton in Devon. Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
A Jackdaw or two are not unusual visitors in my back garden but today I looked out onto my drive and there were four. They were all on the same mission which was gathering nesting material. At one time my drive was under the branches of my neighbour's tree and dropped loads of tree detritus which was suitable for nesting materials but it was chopped down two years ago. It seems that the Jackdaws haven't forgotten.

Not had a jackdaw in a while now. Down the woods there are loads of sticks on the ground from the rooks.

For a few weeks last year a pair of Stock Doves were regular visitors but then disappeared. They returned today but not together. They have slightly different wing markings.
