It's always a bit distressing when you lose what you consider to be one of "your" birds . If it was a Sprawk that killed it I'm surprised you had a body to find.

It wasn't a body Jack, just the feathers , that makes me think it might have been a Sprawk . Plus, they (Mrs and Mrs GSW) don't hang around anywhere else but the hanging suet candle feeder, never on the ground. It would have been very hard for a cat to get them on a hanging feeder, but not so impossible for Sprawk I guess

Greenfinch pair back after a lengthy absence. Nuthatch has also graced me a few times recently with its presence. Pair Stock Doves also regular visitors.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I have crow fledglings in my garden , I think its 3 of them, super cute when they flatter their big wings begging parents for food
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Only the one, but a newly fledged starling in the garden today. Not a good flyer.
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
My resident blackbird, who comes to my garden every day, brought his beautiful well fed fledgling today and was feeding it mealworms
