Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Today brought one of the occasional visits I get from the LTT flock. A total of four appeared over a period of five minutes and all were chased off by one of the resident Blue Tits Quite why they were regarded as persona non grata I don't know as the food of choice was the sunflower hearts and there was more than enough for everyone.

It always seems to be a reward when those transient little birds grace our gardens.
Hopefully they'll forget the blueys and turn up again tomorrow, Jacksparrow .
Btw, you spelled 'toady' incorrectly - I expect it was the excitement.

Saw a goldcrest today. I may have seen one a few years ago but this is the first time recently. Opened the bedroom curtains and saw a bird that looked smaller than usual in the birch just outside the window and was sure it wasn't a blue or great tit. It was hopping around and hidden by twigs but was then able to see the yellow streak along the top of its head. Looked in my bird book and I'm sure it was a female goldcrest. Hopefully, it will come back at some time.

Good spot Mike_k. They can be very elusive and being so small easy to miss.Mike_k wrote:Saw a goldcrest today. I may have seen one a few years ago but this is the first time recently. It looks like our Goldcrest may have taken up residence in the area as I've seen it a couple of times since I first saw it. Hoping to get a picture eventually !
