I think my local Swifts have their youngsters on the wing now. They're very noticeably flying around in what looks like family groups while doing a lot of "screaming".
On a sad note a couple more weeks and they head back to sub-saharan Africa until next year. :(

I don't see them really, only occasionally, but I do hear them screaming while flying around, which is a lovely sound :D

Pretty much on cue my Swifts have quit the skies in my area :( . For them British summer is over and Africa is calling. :)

Only the one, but have seen my first swallow flying over the village in a northerly direction.
