An early morning jay (hope it's the same one :)).

2 visits today, from a family of 7 Long Tailed Tits. They're only interested in the fat balls.

Today I had a male Common Redpoll which was nice. :)

Edited to correct Redcap to Redpoll. (I blame the drink) :rolleyes2:

At FIL's on Sat 19th. He feeds the birds as well. While watching the feeders, suddenly all birds scattered and disappeared. Merlin flew in, landed on the gate for a few seconds and then flew off.

A Merlin is a rare garden visitor. I am wondering if the recent bad weather had driven it to search for food in unfamiliar places.

The single Redpoll turned up again today with the Goldfinches. I don't know if she's just following them or has joined the gang. :unsure:

For the last few weeks a Greater Spotted Woodpecker has being feeding in the garden but I've never managed to get a shot - either gone when I got to the camera or was too dark/dull to get decent shots. However, today I managed to get some shots so here they are....
