I must be blessed just now. Not only do I have many, many, many Goldfinches but also Chaffinches. There can be up to twenty, maybe more feeding on the feeders and grass and many sitting on the hedge. Brilliant sight.

While I was outside topping up the feeders this forenoon my attention was taken by a great deal of unrest among the pigeon population. They had all taken to the air and were flying off in all directions. A closer inspection of the flock revealed a bird of prey in the middle veering left and right. At the distance I was I could only see it had a silver underside and a long tail. My first thought was a Peregrine but more likely was a female Sprawk. I shall never know :(

I spotted my Wren today. I don't think I've seen it since last winter.

Get a Wren every 3 - 4 days. GSW (female) back and Nuthatch coming in again. With the Goldie and LTTs I feel blessed.
