STARLINGS
Re: STARLINGS
That's exactly right. Exit left, nursing wounded pride, a few displaced fevvers and a black eye (which you can't see).
Re: STARLINGS

This is a small starling flock that I see in the area, and they come to dig for grubs on the grass area around my house

As I was parking my car today, I saw them on the grass across the road, and I got out to take a picture as there was more of them. At that very moment a magpie attack them and grabbed one of them, pinning it to the ground

Re: STARLINGS
I think the attack was almost accidental, because I've seen a magpie swoop over them (starlings) to chase them away from a good source of food, and today one of them probably didn't moveJacksparrow wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 8:39 pmBravo Butterfly. I have seen magpies harassing smaller birds but never attack one.![]()

During my permitted outdoor stroll today I became aware that many of the fairly recently built houses on an estate near the chateau were hosting Starling nests under their tiles at the gable ends. Those nests now contain screaming Sturklets and the parents were working hard keeping the little bellies well filled.

Re: STARLINGS
Starling babies have fledged!
. Of course, I heard them before I saw them
, there was this unmistakable noise they make all around the area
. Than parents brought few of them to my garden and introduced them to the local eatery
. They always steal my heart, so gorgeous

Re: STARLINGS
I'm sure you'll see them any day now, they are early this year

I forgot how chaotic it is when starlings fledge
