Seen a red admiral this morning, first for a few weeks.

Seen a Comma butterfly today, only the second have seen this year.

I see that butterflies have had a poor year in the UK generally. This came as no surprise to me as I hardly saw any during what is usually the high season for them. I said at the time they were scarce and it had to be down to the poor summer we just had. Cool and wet weather is not butterfly weather.
