Re: BUTTERFLIES
A good day for butterflies in the garden today. The butterfly bush was living up to it's reputation. Red Admirals, Peacocks, Large and Small Whites and a Meadow Brown for good measure.
Re: BUTTERFLIES
That is great JS. Seen a comma a couple of days ago, and holly blues are getting out and about.

Re: BUTTERFLIES
The sun came out again today and so did the butterflies. The highlight was a Small Copper.
I have read that Red Admirals are having a good year but no-one is quite sure why. Apparently in normal years most of the UK's RAs have migrated from continental Europe with only a few home grown. The thinking is that the home grown ones have had a better than usual season.

There seems to be a glut of red admirals and peacock at the moment down here. Good spot with the small copper.

Another bumper day for butterflies today. The Red Admirals and Peacocks were joined by a pair of Brimstones and numerous whites. I also caught a glimpse of a Holly Blue.
