I see that butterflies have had a poor year in the UK generally. This came as no surprise to me as I hardly saw any during what is usually the high season for them. I said at the time they were scarce and it had to be down to the poor summer we just had. Cool and wet weather is not butterfly weather.

I am still getting a few butterflies in the garden. All of them whites both large and small. I have very few flowers left for them. The buddlia still has some and there a plenty on the Michaelmas Daisy.

I don't usually get many butterflies but I do get few during the summer. Not this year tho, I don't recall seeing any at all this year :(

I don't think anyone has seen as many butterflies this year compared with recent years but seeing none is very surprising.
