They were late in appearing this year due to a cold spring. But i have been seeing plenty on my walks. Just a couple of days ago i seen what i believe to be a Small Copper. Lovely little butterfly.

Seen my first butterfly briefly this morning of the new season. A red admiral.

I also saw my first butterflies of the year. The springlike weather has tempted out several Brimstones.

I also seen a couple of brown ones, but were flying so could not get a good look at them. Yes is warming up nicely in the sunshine.

Today was even a better day weather wise. Bags of sunshine and light breeze. Hardly any butterflies.
