DRAGONFLIES
Re: DRAGONFLIES
Nice! I'm going to have to look that one up though. We get the occasional couple in summer - the big blue/green ones, I can never remember what they're called either!

Re: DRAGONFLIES
I am fascinated by dragonflies and damselflies but learning how to tell which is which can be very confusing to the amateur. To make things more confusing some species vary in colour by sex. I have a good book to help but there is still the chance of a mis ID.
Re: DRAGONFLIES
Yes I found that too, sometimes you can't see their subtle colours unless they land either. They're pretty magnificent though aren't they?

Re: DRAGONFLIES
I am still waiting for my first Damselfly or Dragonfly in the garden this year. I don't get lots but this year, but I think is the worst year for a long time.

Re: DRAGONFLIES
The sun brought me a Banded Demoiselle and a big dragonfly I couldn't ID. It's marvellous what a little nice weather can produce.

Re: DRAGONFLIES
Dragonflies are very tricky to ID unless they will settle and give you time for a proper look. Even then it's not always easy.
