Have noticed that the buddlia has just started flowering in a few places I walk.
Same here. My own is usually a little later. The flowers have formed but are not yet big enough to bloom.

I wondered if this is an elephant hawk-moth chrysalis. It is about 3cm long, I found it in the garden today.

I know we are told not to interfere will nature but I'd be very tempted to put it some where warm and safe to see what emerges.

It would be nice to know, I put it back under some dead leaves where I found it. I shall keep an eye out for it though.

I went for my first walk at Backwater Reservoir this morning, first for a few weeks, a reasonable amount of activity including this beauty, I haven't seen them much up here.

On my way back from the shop just now, spotted a hummingbird hawk moth.
