Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs
I rather think that naming ones Hogs has some merit and willpar may well take up the practice himself.

Thing is though, maybe neutral names are best ....... such as, Dylan, Hilary, Ashley -Jacksparrow wrote:I rather think that naming ones Hogs has some merit and willpar may well take up the practice himself.![]()

Never really took up naming the hedgehogs that visit. With the exception of tiny, way back in the old place. Just refer them as " hedgies" now adays.

Some of my spring bunch had name changes once I worked out who was doing what to who.
Perhaps I should log which ones scrap and which ones dance and which ones ignore each other to do one of those logic puzzles to work out male or female.

This was 10 minutes later. I'd always thought that one of my hogs was missing an eye. I spotted it last night and went out and had a good look. I couldn't see an eyeball. This was taken later on and you can see the one of the left only has one glowing eye. You can see why ...........

So Betty is the one-eyed one. Doris is the huffy puffy one and Fred is the third one.
Can we work out from those distinct behaviours which is male and which is female?
I'd guess Doris is female and Betty and Fred are male as they are fighting.
