Re: TREES
I have a similar problem with the ivy on my external wall. It needs to be trimmed annually and I can usually do it in a day with my battery powered hedge trimmer. The resulting clippins fill up my green bin 3 times over so I bag them up and store them and the decant into the bin when there is room.

Re: TREES
I was about to post something similar about my Rowan. There are very few berries left and the remainder have either fallen off or are about to.Willpar wrote: Thu Jul 28, 2022 8:00 pm My rowan in not looking too healthy. Drooping leaves, and the berries look to be shrivelling.
I hope it is not a hard winter as there will be some very hungry birds.

Re: TREES
I have had a hazel tree in my garden for about 30 years. I bought it as a sapling and have been trying to stop it taking over the garden ever since. It has produced masses of nuts and the catkins have ben very attractive. You have to keep it pruned but it quickly recovers and comes back even bigger and higher. Unfortunately it has now reached the point where it has got to be almost completely brought back down to start again. I hope the birds and the occasional squirrel will understand.
