I saw two Brimstones today in a neighbours garden. I was hoping they would visit me but they flapped off in the other direction.

The tadpoles are starting to emerge from their jelly . Only a few at present but should increase within the next few days.

I saw the Wren yesterday and today I heard it singing. they are very loud for such a small bird.

I saw a butterfly today. I couldn't get an ID. It was dark in colour so was probably a Red Admiral or a Small Tortoiseshell as both hibernate in the winter in their adult form.

This year I have a couple. Of bird feeding stations in the. Back garden with a mix of seed and suet. This year I have also replaced my back garden nest box with one with a wifi camera in. Strangely there has been more frog activity this week, so I may be getting some more spawn. There is no sign of the existing spawn giving any tadpoles but it has been cold overnight with some ice on the ponds.

Very little sign of frogs now. I think that is the fastest spawning season ever. It had no sooner started but was done and dusted.
