Re: Blue Tits
Woo!
Re: Robin
Had a robin site on a railing about 10ft in front of me while I was waiting for kingfishers this morning so rattled a shot off. Probably does quite well from the picnics along the river!

Re: Mouse or young rat?
Welcome
Yeah I agree it's a mouse. Rats have a longer face and smaller ears.

Re: Magpie question
Mostly these parasites are not transmittable to humans. I think gloves are fine and a sensible precaution. I do the same with my feeders.

Re: Magpie question
Welcome to the forum
I've seen a similar thing on a blue tit on my feeders. I suspect it's a mite or worm of some sort.

Re: Unwell starling
That's a bit like a blue tit I had on my windowsill earlier in the year.

Re: BIRD FEEDING
Same here. My feeders have been very quiet while the sun was out. I guess it's easier for them to find active caterpillars, daddy long legs and the like. But when it cools down they're more likely to come looking for the birdy equivalent of a McDonalds drive through! :) I've got a nice little family...

Re: THE FIRMAMENT
Cloud as far as the eye can see so it's a no go for me. I've seen one before so I'm not too gutted but I might do the January one even though it'll be at 4am!

Re: THE FIRMAMENT
We've had more than a month of clear skies and now we want it to be clear for the eclipse it looks like we might be thwarted by rain. I'm going to go out and have a watch of it though. Might get lucky. There's another in January if it doesn't work out.
