Still no chick at Loch Arkaig. Going by the date laid and incubation period, the first egg laid will be due to hatch on Friday 26 May. Here's hoping.

Looks like the 2nd chick to hatch came from the 3rd egg. 1st chick to hatch came from the 2nd egg laid. !st egg laid (4 April) probably won't hatch.

Spotted first Swifts yesterday. Only two but Swifts are here. Would say a couple of weeks late.

LM12 at Loch of the Lowes has just brought in a fish, minus the head. NC0 took the fish and is feeding the chick. He must have recovered from whatever was bothering him. Egg no.2 must be near hatching.

There is a chick on the nest at Loch of the Lowes. However the male appears to be injured. Male Blackcap has disappeared, probably away breeding. He will build a few rudimentary nest, one of which the female pick and fashion into a cup shaped nest. Male will help with the incubation and rearing the young. Don't expect to see him for a while.

First House Martin arrived 26 April. No sign of any Swallows yet. Martins and Swallows are usually here mid April so they are about a week late, Swallows about two weeks.

All three nests I am Watching now have three eggs, Still need to find out the laying date at New Poole Harbour.
