Incubation over, eggs have been removed. Loch of the Lowes year is over.

:wow: chicks at Loch Garten are really coming on.

Day 73 since first egg laid Loch of the Lowes and Lady is still sitting.

Looks like Lady hasn't given up yet. She is sitting on the eggs at the moment.

Nope my mistake, Lady back on the eggs. Now day 71 since first egg laid.

I may be wrong but I think incubation has stopped at Loch of the Lowes. Cannot see eggs in the nest so maybe Lowes Staff have already removed them under license.

Last night as I watched the mound on the patio something stirred beneath. Soil suddenly appeared from the hole as the occupant pushed it to the surface. This happened on three occasions but nothing appeared. Pic 1 - I think it is only one. First dark part the head and the second dark part the thorax.

Aye nuthatch, heard about it a wee bit earlier. Very sad indeed. I think this happened a few years ago with EJ. Her resident partner then, Henry, was late in returning and she teamed up with another male and she laid three eggs. When Henry returned he ousted the other male and kicked the eggs out of...

I'm sure Loch of the Lowes Staff will have the license to remove the eggs once Lady stops incubating. It was day 70 last year.
