I don't know what is happening at the moment but I am inundated with Wood Pigeons. Between the feeder and the ground there can be up to ten
That is very strange. For me the opposite is true. I usually get three or four and currently there are none. :(

Re: COLLARED DOVES

I had another mystery today following on from the Hedgehog skull but this time it was a Collared Dove. Sometime between 9.30 and 10 o'clock this morning I noticed there were a lot of Dove feathers around the garden where previously there had been none. However there was no sign of a dead bird. My im...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I am blessed at the moments with not one, not two but three Nuthatches coming to the feeders. There are two larger ones and a smaller one. Have seen both large in together and a large and smaller in together but not the three together. I wait in anticipation. Lovely birds to get. I've only ever had...

Re: Feral Pigeons

Whatever spooked my ferals has gone from their memories. They were back at full strength today pillaging the hanging feeders as though nothing had happened. :wife:

Re: PIED WAGTAILS

Two pied wagtails flying around here this morning. Never came in though. You have had the pleasure of Waggies for a long time now so I'm sure you'll have them back for the winter. Just keep the mealies handy. On the other hand I cannot remember the last time I had one in my garden. At one time they...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

Whilst tidying up a part of my garden this afternoon I had a very strange find. A hedgehog skull  . I know it was a hog because there were still some oddments of skin attached with spines and little bits of hair. A the time of posting I have not found any more remains which begs the question ho...

Re: Feral Pigeons

I had 8 turn up today at breakfast time. I had to disturb them as two had decided that the hanging feeders were the place to be seen. They never returned. In the past they would fly off for a few minutes and then return and so it would go on until either they or myself became fed up with the game. :...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I have a poorly looking Starling hanging around at present. It seems to be able to feed OK visiting the bird table a couple of times but it is spending a lot of time scurrying around on the floor and does not have the usual strut and energy you associate with Starlings :(
