Re: TREES

Thank you JS, i had a read up about it but says that ash and rowan are not related. But my rowan has lesions on it like it says ash has. At the base there is a very big gash in it ore something like that. When the weather is a bit better will make a video of it to show what is going on. But it the ...

Re: TREES

Went out with bird food this morning, noticed that one of the limbs f the rowan had broken off in the wind. Not a large limb hick wise. First thing I had noticed after I picked it up was how light it was and completely dry inside. Had noticed that for a couple of seasons it had a bit of die back on...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

A clear sign colder weather has arrived I had a Chaffinch on the SF feeder today. I only get them in winter but their numbers have reduced in recent times.

Re: WHAT I DIDN'T SEE TODAY

I believe great/blue tits had a bad breeding season because of the rain this year (at least that's what I read somewhere) so I don't know if that's something to do with lack of them in my garden. I can't remember when was the last time I saw one in my garden :( They rely on the caterpillar boom in ...

Not seen by me but reported in Devon birds yesterday. Three parakeets seen over the way. Just around a few hundred yards from where I live.
They may like the Devon weather and decide to stay. I'm looking forward to your video of them. :)

While out today, seen a butterfly on the wing, probably a red admiral.
It's not butterfly weather around here. I think I will not see another one this year.

Re: BUTTERFLIES

Somehow a Peacock butterfly found it's way into my lounge last night. I tried to catch it but failed leaving it in the dark until this morning. My daughter finally caught it and it is now in a box to put in the garage until spring.

Re: GRASS

I had to mow my lawn today due to the mild weather. I'm hoping that was the last time for this year.
