Re: BUTTERFLIES

Well spotted Willpar. I am getting very few butterflies at present :( I was hoping the warm weather would encourage them out.

Re: Starling killers

Never seen or heard of Starlings attacking another bird. They do get a bit assertive when food is on offer but only to make sure they get their share. A very strange occurrence.

Re: STARLINGS

It's reassuring to hear others have had good years which leaves me all the more puzzled as to why this year was a damp squib for Sturklets

Re: STARLINGS

I have to say my Sturklet experience this year was a short lived affair with less attendees than normal. I find that a little concerning.

Re: BLACKBIRDS

I appear to have won the trust of one of my female BBs. She has ventured close a few times but today was the closest yet. I was weeding by the ground bird bath and she came for a drink within about a foot of me. I could be cupboard love as she knows I bring out the sultanas.

Blue tits have fledged! :flying:  :rara: There was lots of twittering in my garden and parents were feeding them suet. They are too cute
How many fledged. According to Springwatch successful fledglings are way down on last years numbers.

Great news, Walter the one-legged pigeon appeared to today. He looks to be coping well with his disability.

My rowan is in flower. Seems to have a lot of them this year.
I'm hoping lots of blossom equals lots of berries but it rarely works out that way. :(
