Re: MICE

Cats kill for fun. They inherit an instinct to hunt and most of them enjoy fulfilling that part of their make-up. :cat2:

Re: Feral Pigeons

I heard these tiny squeaky voices coming from pigeon's nests near the high street today, in this freezing cold weather :faint: . Poor little ones must be feeling this cold more than the others. You have to give it to them, they are such a tough birds  You have highlighted the pigeon's secret o...

That is cats alright JS. Always someone elses garden. They know they are welcome in mine, and run as soon as they see me.
Is welcoming both, birds and cats, to your garden wise Willpar
I'm sure Willpar doesn't need welcome cats as they will just rock-up uninvited.

Re: Chaffinch

The Chaffinch has a Scandinavian cousin called a Brambling. The Brambling is mainly a winter visitor to the UK but it likes to mingle with the resident Chaffinch. The BTO have a produced a helpful short video to aid identification between the two species. https://www.bto.org/develop-your-skills/bird...

Re: CATS

I seem to have become the toilet for the local cats. I have always had a few deposits but never the frequency that I'm getting now. We all know that cats seldom soil their own garden and to that end I make my garden a least welcoming as I can. Yesterday I spread holly and bramble prunings around the...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

Despite the continuing warmish weather I'm sensing that bird visits to the garden are now increasing. Just the usual suspects at present minus the Wood Pigeons. :)
