Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs

I've had no actual sightings but while walking the garden this afternoon I came across two separate CCs which is encouraging. Of course seeing the hog would be much better so I live in hope. :) :hedgehog:

All the juveniles seem to have moved on. Just getting adult ones now, but not so many visits.
Do the adults push the youngsters out after a certain time to protect the limited food available?

Re: GRASS

Further to my previous post my lawn is now making a crisp crunching noise when walked upon. I'm hoping no-ones carelessly discarded cigarette butt gets anywhere near it.

Re: BEES

I spotted 4 different types of Bumblebee in the garden today along with loads of Honey Bees. They seem to be enjoying the very warm weather.

Re: SWIFTS, SWALLOWS AND HOUSE MARTINS

Quiet skies around here. The screamers have disappeared on their way back to Africa. I'm always a little sad when the Swifts have gone as I know we are into the tail end of summer. :weep:

Re: BUTTERFLIES

Brimstones are a butterfly that find their way into my garden especially in the spring when they are one of the first to emerge. Sometimes I'll get the odd one at this time of year which I suppose is the second brood. This afternoon I had five all at the same time which is a record for my garden. Th...

Re: TREES

My rowan in not looking too healthy. Drooping leaves, and the berries look to be shrivelling. I was about to post something similar about my Rowan. There are very few berries left and the remainder have either fallen off or are about to. I hope it is not a hard winter as there will be some very hun...

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

At breakfast time this morning there were no birds at all in my garden. Even the pesky pigeons were nowhere to be seen and it stayed that way for the next hour. I suspected the Sprawk had flown through or had made a kill. I went out to the side lawn which is not visible from the house windows and fo...
