Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

Birds with one leg seem to cope reasonably well from what I've seen. They might miss out in a real scramble for food and mating might be a bit tricky but in general they are OK.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

My garden suddenly appears to be Wood Pigeon central. Every time I go out the back of the house I disturb at least two and often more Woodies. I always have Woodies visit but they are usually transient and not a constant presence. There may be some courting going on  but I have seen little sig...

Re: SWIFTS, SWALLOWS AND HOUSE MARTINS

I saw 6 Swifts this afternoon. I had heard the screaming during the morning but I couldn't see any.

Re: BIRD FEEDING

A new "Pound Stretcher" has opened in my town so I went for a look. The only purchase I made was for a bag of Black Soldier Fly Larvae. They are dried and like quite like mealworms. I had not seen any before and will be interested to see how well they go down.

they like having their bath, which makes them slow flyers.
I saw one of the fledgeling landing right next to an adult and started screaming, for no reason. The adult just turned around and pecked him/her
Kids eh! Who'd ave um?

I thought you always get them Willpar, what happened to your hedgehogs? Do you think its because of badgers that are visiting you?
I don't know what willpar thinks but I would think the badger visit and the Hogs disappearance could well be linked.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

Well done Butterfly  but the bad news is that once a Magpie has identified a likely food source they are unlikely to be permanently deterred. You may have more rescues to do.
