Do the adults push the youngsters out after a certain time to protect the limited food available?

My blackbirds have disappeared for the summer moult. I put out sultanas but they remain uneaten.

Further to my previous post my lawn is now making a crisp crunching noise when walked upon. I'm hoping no-ones carelessly discarded cigarette butt gets anywhere near it.

I spotted 4 different types of Bumblebee in the garden today along with loads of Honey Bees. They seem to be enjoying the very warm weather.

Quiet skies around here. The screamers have disappeared on their way back to Africa. I'm always a little sad when the Swifts have gone as I know we are into the tail end of summer.
