Re: STARLINGS

I have a couple of broods of fledglings that nested under the eves on my house that I've been filming. They have largely learned to feed themselves now. They're still working on table manners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSh_3IWdNAM Oh wow! What a great video  . Its so nice to see so many...

Re: MAGPIES

I had a magpie fledgling in my garden today. It was obviously guided by parents, but also, the whole flock came to welcome the little one and introduce themselves! They were going close to him/her, inspecting him almost. He looked very unsure of himself and just stayed in one spot for a long time. T...

Re: STARLINGS

I envy you. I saw 1 lone starling fledgling few days ago and was getting ready for the noise and usual mayhem but I haven't seen any since. I heard the familiar sound that (and maybe the next) day and nothing since than. The silence is deafening. Very unusual :(

There was a fledgling robin in the garden this morning. Not too bad at flying, but with all the cats around here, it had better stay high up.
Lovely news  , lets hope it learns quickly to stay safe.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....

I bought some natural wool of Ebay and put it out in my garden as a nest material offer about a month ago, but didn't see any takers. Until this morning, when I was delighted to see a great tit came and pulled a good beak-full and took it away :D . I was in the garden at the time but that didn't de...

Good news Butterfly. Is the same here, but am getting a couple of rooks now looking for food. There is a rookery close by, and they are nest building.
Oh thats really lovely , I love rooks but unfortunately I don't get to have any rooks in my area
