Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I heard lots of magpies distressed alert calls yesterday afternoon just across the road, and I knew that a predator is near by. So I looked outside and saw a sparowhawk on the ground. I thought it caught a pray, as they do that when they catch something, pin them on the ground. As it just happened,...

Re: Your Garden Hedgehogs
Good to hear Willpar, I haven't seen any little ones in my garden. I really need to install a cam! I hear crunching though , so I know they come to eat.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I have been enjoying visits from Greenfinches for a long time now even through the period when tricho was decimating their numbers. They turned up with some fledglings today which was a very welcome sight. That's really great Jack  , they sure are not in great numbers. I have seen few in my g...

Re: BLACKBIRDS
Sadly, I think my blackbirds couple's nest has failed :( A while ago, I heard a group of magpies loudly chatting about something. Obviously, it attracted my attention and I went out to see what all the chatter was about. At first, they all flew away and it seemed like there was nothing going on. Tha...

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I have a very friendly blackbird couple coming to my garden, which I find very unusual because blackbirds have always been very nervous and would always fly away quickly if I appear. Not this couple. They worked out around what time I come out to put the food out and its become a routine that they ...
Re: Ospreys
That's quite sad peregrine, its good that the chicks are given a chance to survive, but its sad that parents can't feed them :( Do you know why they are being relocated to Spain? I think the report suggests that getting the chicks to Spain will give them a better chance of completing the migration ...
