Thanks JS.
Judging by what's in the area I think a dove seems more likely. I know they fly them out of the nest and drop them at random, just 'luck' to have landed where it was.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
This is a bit plain and non-descript but I saw it under the hedge next to my parking space tonight.
Any idea what it's from? It's about an inch (3cm) across, maybe a tad more.

Re: Big Bluebird
Take a picture of the bird. We don't have bluebirds in the UK. You could try putting something on the windowsill that they can't walk on. You could open the window but put a net across it so nothing can come in but you still get a breeze. But ultimately you won't be able to get rid of them from your...

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I know what you mean about being a female maybe. Just looked a bit more of a novice at flying in the way it clattered on to the window sill and then looked mightily relieved to have made it. I very very rarely get the blackbirds up here and then it's nearly always the male. They tend to stick to the...

Re: BLACKBIRDS
Hope so. I'll keep an eye out over the next few days I don't normally get the blackbirds up here. I guess I don't really have the sort of food they're after and they're not quite as nimble as the blueies.

Re: BLACKBIRDS
I just heard a clatter at the window (I know they're dirty Placi - I'm decorating :D ) Managed to slowly grab my phone and get a picture of this chunky chappy. Fledgeling blackbird? There's a pair that I'm pretty sure live in the large hedge at the front of the apartment block. I hope it hasn't chos...
Re: ROBINS
I think you need to sit out in the garden for a reasonable time so they get used to you being there and throw food at ever shortening distances and eventually they'll gain the trust. Robin's are especially brave. I have a friend who gardens a lot and the robin will come down and pretty much sit and ...
